Located within the heart of Stamford’s conservation area, adjacent to the River Welland, this prestigious riverside development delivers a carefully considered residential scheme within a highly sensitive historic setting.

JWA Architects led the design and development of the project and supported the strategic assembly of the site, enabling the delivery of 6,688 m² of high-quality houses and apartments.

The site presented significant technical and planning challenges, including flood risk, ground contamination, gas migration and the extensive relocation of existing service infrastructure, all compounded by the constraints of its conservation area designation. Through close collaboration with the local planning authority and conservation officers, these complexities were successfully resolved. Planning consent was secured, resulting in the comprehensive regeneration of the site, including one of the largest urban sustainable drainage schemes undertaken in the UK at the time.
