For five decades, JWA Architects has been designing spaces that inspire and endure. Established in 1975, our journey from a small practice in Leicestershire to a nationally recognised architecture firm reflects a steadfast commitment to design excellence, innovation and collaboration.

From cultural landmarks to sustainable commercial spaces, we’ve always believed that architecture is about more than buildings—it’s about shaping the experiences and environments that define communities across the UK.

A Legacy Rooted in Innovation

Founded by John Ward, JWA Architects first gained recognition for pioneering work in motorway service areas and early self-service forecourts, a new concept at the time.

Over the years, our services have expanded to include:

• Architectural design and project delivery

• Principal Designer and full life-cycle support

In 2016, we welcomed Michael Lavender Architects into the JWA family, strengthening our expertise and broadening our portfolio. Today, from our offices in Market Harborough’s historic Old Town Hall, we continue to serve clients throughout the UK and abroad with creativity, technical excellence and a human-centred approach.
