A Year of Milestones: JWA Architects in 2025

From Market Harborough to the Caribbean — A Year of Growth, Innovation, and Legacy
2025 has been a momentous year for JWA Architects UK—marked by milestone celebrations, headline-grabbing projects, and a step-change in digital identity with the launch of a brand-new website. As we reflect on the last 12 months, it’s clear that our commitment to thoughtful, functional design and long-term client partnerships continues to shape the built environment across the UK and overseas.
50 Years & A New Digital Home
In 2025, JWA marked 50 years of architectural excellence—an anniversary that honours five decades of innovation, collaboration, and design leadership. From our beginnings in 1975 to today, our projects have evolved alongside the needs of the people and organisations we serve, always grounded in creativity, practicality, and context-driven design. To celebrate this milestone, we launched a redeveloped website that showcases our legacy, diverse portfolio, and forward-looking vision in a fresh, user-centred digital experience.
The new site delivers:
Project stories with visuals and insights.
Clear access to sector experience (commercial, residential, hospitality & travel).
Thought leadership from the JWA team via blog and news content.
This digital refresh isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s a strategic step in sharing our brand story more effectively with clients, collaborators, and industry partners.
A Longstanding Partnership with Costa Coffee
Our enduring partnership with Costa Coffee continues to be a defining strand of JWA Architects UK’s portfolio and a standout highlight of 2025. Over the course of this long-term collaboration, JWA has now worked on more than 400 Costa Coffee projects across the UK, supporting the brand’s growth through consistent, high-quality architectural and development monitoring services.
This extensive body of work spans a wide range of site types and formats—with a particular focus on drive-thru developments—each carefully designed to balance operational efficiency, brand consistency, and site-specific constraints. Our deep understanding of Costa’s operational requirements allows us to deliver repeatable yet flexible solutions, ensuring each location responds effectively to its local context while maintaining a strong and recognisable identity.
In 2025 alone, the partnership saw the successful handover of multiple drive-thru sites, including projects in Castleford, Ashford, Maidstone, and Sunderland, with several further locations making strong progress on site. These projects reflect the strength of an established working relationship built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to quality delivery.
Architecturally, the Costa programme reinforces JWA’s expertise in:
Maintaining brand consistency across diverse retail environments.
Designing highly functional layouts that support customer flow and operational efficiency.
Delivering scalable architectural models that enable long-term portfolio growth.
Having contributed to over 400 Costa Coffee projects to date, we’re proud to continue supporting the evolution of one of the UK’s most recognisable brands — shaping welcoming, efficient spaces that serve communities nationwide.
Provo Water Company: Building in the Caribbean
One of our most exciting developments in 2025 was being appointed, alongside SWA Architects Ltd, to design the new headquarters for Provo Water Company (PWC) in Turks & Caicos. This 15,000 sq ft facility will unify administrative functions and state-of-the-art water testing laboratories into a single, cohesive campus—designed with a strong focus on sustainability, cultural responsiveness, and climatic resilience.
Key architectural drivers for PWC include:
Naturally ventilated courtyard spaces responding to local climate.
A lightweight, flexible roof structure referencing maritime heritage.
Water-saving landscaping and sustainable systems that reinforce PWC’s environmental mission.
This project represents an exciting expansion of JWA’s global portfolio and showcases our capacity to design with purpose in complex regional contexts.
Other Notable Work & Thought Leadership
Alongside flagship projects like Provo and Costa drive-thrus, JWA Architects UK has been active across the built environment sector:
Sharing insights into construction tech trends, collaboration practices, and sustainable design through our website’s Journal.
Supporting planning and delivery on hospitality and residential projects.
Advancing urban design outcomes that balance functionality with long-term value.
What’s Next?
As we move into the New Year, JWA Architects UK is continuing to explore new ways of sharing our work visually and accessibly with a wider audience. In the coming days, we’ll be releasing an architectural walkthrough of our Provo Water Company Headquarters project in Turks & Caicos.
The walkthrough presents the full design in model form, guiding viewers through the building’s layout, massing, and key architectural features. It offers a clear overview of how the project comes together spatially—from the overall site arrangement to the relationship between internal and external spaces—making it an easy entry point for those new to JWA Architects UK and our work.
By sharing the project in this format, we aim to give clients, collaborators, and new audiences alike a better understanding of our approach to international projects and context-led design, while continuing to expand how we present architecture beyond traditional drawings and imagery.
