The existing 138-bedroom hotel had been built around three sides of a courtyard. The four-storey extension we designed added a fourth side and so completed the courtyard look. There are now an additional 98 bedrooms. In addition the courtyard itself was lowered to provide extensive leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, whilst a 400-seat conference centre was built overhead. Further extensions were provided to the restaurant and bar, with all the work being carried out whilst the hotel remained fully operational.
